Sullivan+Strumpf presents If then else – a new exhibition by Gemma Smith that is as vibrant as it is intricate. This body of work furthers the artist’s innovative exploration of gesture, process and colour.

In an analogue for how we experience life, her art meditates on the relationship between intentionality and inevitability, on the interaction between the will of the painter and the obstinacy of the painting.
