Autonoetic consciousness is the ability to mentally place oneself in the past, present and future. Autonoetic consciousness involves behaviours such as mental time travel, self-projection, and episodic future thinking as well as counterfactual situations or alternative outcomes. Geoffrey Schmidt‘s drawings depict the male body and its movement through space and time as a physical manifestation of the Autonoetic mind.
