Over the past thirty years, Arthouse Gallery has established itself as one of the leading contemporary art galleries in Australia. Currently boasting over forty artists in their stable, the gallery is celebrating their 30th anniversary in December with a major retrospective showcasing artists in the collective.
Founded in 1994 by Directors Di and Ali Yeldham, the gallery began as a space to showcase emerging artists such as Helen Norton operating in Paddington before moving to the current location on McLachlan Avenue, Darlinghurst.
Supporting the careers of over 130 artists from diverse backgrounds and with unique voices, a commitment to inclusivity has fostered an environment where creativity can flourish, particularly for women artists, whose practices have been championed throughout the gallery’s thirty-year history. The initiative to create safe spaces for artistic expression has allowed for a diverse range of perspectives and experiences to come to the forefront, enriching the cultural landscape.
