Now You’re Speakin’ My Language is a new digital commission partnership between the Institute of Modern Art and NOWNESS ASIA.
Curated by Taungurung artist and curator Kate ten Buuren, Now You’re Speakin’ My Language presents five new films by artists that consider memory, language, and place through their work.
The works by artists of Australian First Nations, Southeast Asian, and Asia Pacific backgrounds/diasporas reflect on the ways that language and story connect us across oceans, rivers, lands, and imposed borders, as well as across time. The exhibition features works by Tiyan Baker, Jenna Lee, James Nguyen, Chi Tran, and Gutiŋarra Yunupiŋu.
Premiering online mid-July via nowness.asia.
