This is an exploration of fibre and woven forms in relation to the human body. Contemporary makers innovate using the traditions of old as they create pieces that critique power dynamics. Aligned with the theme for the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial IOTA24: Codes in Parallel In 2024 – the exhibition will investigate systems of power as they are enacted upon bodies. It includes new art commissions, artist loans and works from UWA Art Collection, Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art, and Berndt Museum.
