Vivien Anderson Gallery presents The Women’s Show, an annual exhibition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women artists. This exhibition celebrates their contribution to visual arts and culture in Australia and internationally.
The exhibition features artwork by Maree Clarke, Hayley Millar-Baker, Janet Fieldhouse, Naomi Hobson, Maringka Baker, Beryl Jimmy, Tjukapati James, Lorna Dawson, Pauline Sunfly, Susan Marawarr, Maureen Ali, Apphia Wurrkidj, Rosina Gunjarrwanga, Semeria Wurrkidj, Maria Ware, Bugai Whyoulter, Lamangirra #2 Gumana, Burrŋanydji #2 Gaykamaŋu, Dorothy Napangardi, Angelina Ngale, Maureen Poulson Napangardi, Kumantjai Nangala (Tilau), and Jennifer Kemarre Martinello.
The exhibition will be opened by Claire G. Coleman, Melbourne based writer of fiction, essays and poetry. Coleman is a Noongar woman whose family has belonged to the south coast of Western Australia for millennia.
