Isabelle Devos, Tanya Chaitow, and Lois Robertson met in 2021 during an artist residential workshop in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, with artist David Keeling.
Within the pastoral beauty of this rural landscape, there are darker undertones and the more ephemeral narratives of a colonial history came to the surface. The three artists came to this landscape with the eyes of strangers, visitors to a foreign land. A shared connection was recognised and they began working on a body of work based on the microcosm of the Tasmanian landscape, part of the Big River Nation near the Clyde River. The brooding solitude of the area affected each artist in unique ways, connecting their work through the singularity of location.
Opening Event: Friday 17 March, 6 – 8pm.
