“A windswept coastline meets a predominantly dairy farming landscape, dotted with more windswept trees and rows of cypress hedges as windbreaks. Vast skies, with ever-changing cloud formations and a brooding atmosphere, a rotation of different seasons in one day, and the starker changes of seasons as witnessed by the land. This place is where I was born and raised, moved away from, and returned many years later. Always informing my artwork, always my reference, my sense of being grounded and home.” – Kathryn Ryan, 2023.
