Maringka Burton: Anumara Piti, Caterpillar Tjukurpa

Alcaston Gallery presents Anumara Piti, Caterpillar Tjukurpa, an exhibition of new paintings by Maringka Burton.

The highly regarded senior artist and ngangkari (traditional healer) will be presenting her third solo exhibition with Alcaston Gallery. Burton has created an exciting new body of work for this exhibition boasting her unique style and distinctive colour palette.

From 2022 Burton has been included in the Art Gallery of South Australia’s major touring exhibition, Tarnanthi on Tour: Kungka Kuṉpu, showcasing major contemporary works by celebrated women artists from 2022 – 2024. In 2023 Burton was named as finalist in the prestigious Hadley’s Art Prize, a significant $100,000 acquisitive Australian landscape prize presented by the Hadley’s Orient Hotel in Hobart, Tasmania.

Opening Event: Wednesday 24 January, 4.30 – 7pm.
