Pete Finlay, Foreshore Walk, 2024, oil on canvas
Pete Finlay‘s solo exhibition features a collection of landscape paintings ruminating on the dual nature of the painting surface and layers of viewing landscapes. The harbour foreshore is a world of differences, through its constant change in tide, light and air. The painting surface and harbour surface are expressions of life’s inherent duality and fragility.
In encountering these large diptychs, they offer an intimate experience of heart felt, brush marked paint layers and a view of observed landscapes in light fragments.
