This exhibition is a selected survey of the work of Richard Dunn, presented to coincide with – and celebrate – the publication of the artist’s monograph Richard Dunn: Thinking Pictures published by Kerber Verlag, Berlin.

Such a tight selection of work was forced by the limited space of this gallery, and a comprehensive retrospective exhibition requires – and merits – a major public institution. Still, this exhibition does represent significant areas of focus for the artist over the decades including hard-edge geometric abstraction, serial photography, and historically referenced painting.

The artist’s exploration of landscape painting will be exhibited concurrently at the Sofitel Hotel in Collins Street, Richard Dunn: Blasted Geometries, 4 July – 1 October, 2023.
