Landscape would probably be the least radical subject, but Richard Larter managed to subvert even the natural order of things.
Larter was one of Australia’s most significant and engaging artists, with an oeuvre that extends from figurative to pure abstraction, through pop, pointillism and photography. He was one of the most innovative artists of his era, being honoured with a retrospective at the National Gallery of Australia in 2008. His work is in all Australian state and national gallery collections, as well as major corporate, university and private collections.
