2 x 2 comprises of two solo exhibitions by Ross O’Meara and Jacob Cartelli, each artist exploring the beauty of colour and form in distinctive ways. In O’Meara’s Sway, translucent linework appears to float on the surface paper, the elegant, whimsical compositions possessing a soft energy that speaks to slow, meditative movement. In Daydreaming, Cartelli’s paintings are characterised by formations of juxtaposed colour, the formal elements fusing together to form a thick, rich, saturated field from which figures and objects emerge as if from a dream.
