Siteworks 2022: From a deep valley draws on climate research, critical thinking, First Nations knowledge and technologies and creative digital spaces, throughout a major exhibition and a program of outdoor installations, performances, workshops, talks, and digital artworks.
As part of their ongoing exhibition involving 25 artists and 10 scientific researchers, Bundanon is holding a curated series of events across 4 key weekends. They position the artist as a kind of weather balloon, capturing ‘weather reports’ from this place and time.
Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 February
Introductory talks to Inside, Underground exhibition held Saturday and Sunday, 11am & 2pm.
Drop in workshops held Saturday 10am – 5pm.
Two performances, plus workshops and talks to be held Sunday 10am – 5pm. These include a performance of The Plant Sensibilia Machine, a large-scale hand-operated dyeing machine that brings the process out of the studio and into the public realm. The project brings together the plants of Bundanon and the Shoalhaven together with the significant Yuin voices of Aunty Deidre Martin and Jacob Morris. It also includes a performance of Dust of these Domains, a call and response performance from Bianca Hester which responds to a kaleidoscope of material fragments that are witness to the movements of the earth, and the pulses of extinction registered in its lithic bodies.
Each stay also includes one night of accommodation, a guided foraging walk with Diego Bonetto, 3-course chef’s table dinner (set menu), local wines and beers, a continental breakfast, a yoga class, and Art Museum entry.
