The Brothers Gruchy presents nine key artworks by acclaimed digital artists Tim and Mic Gruchy, which focus on the intersections of technological innovations with biological forms, human perception, artificial intelligence, and synaesthesia.
In a technological environment characterised by hyper-communication and social networks, the brothers explore sensuous visions of an enhanced and rapidly changing world, while also considering its dissolution. Their subject matter ranges from familial connection to great Australian rivers; from the environmental impacts of development and industry to the degradation of the decommissioned Baoshan steelworks, Shanghai, once one of the largest steelworks in the world.
The Brothers Gruchy is a touring exhibition curated by Bundaberg Regional Galleries and presented in partnership with Museums & Galleries Queensland. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government’s Visions of Australia program and is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
