Yvette Coppersmith‘s Presage marks artist’s debut exhibition with the gallery and her most profound shift towards merging the figurative and the abstract. Inspired by the legacies of Australian modernist painter Rodger Kemp and The Ballet Russes seminal performance, Les Présage, Coppersmith synthesises dance, music, and art through a striking series of oil paintings. In a homage to colour, light, sound and movement, the paintings honour vibrant hues and rhythmic compositions, where dynamic forms and dancing figures coalesce.
