WAG holds artworks reflecting the world-class natural landscapes in the region including the Budj Bim Cultural Landscape, World Heritage Site, Moyjil at the mouth of the Hopkins River, and a significant number of artworks made over time at Tower Hill, including the 1855 painting by Eugene von Guérard which guided a major re-vegetation program of the Tower Hill landscape in the 1960s.

WAG has enriched the community in South West Victoria by presenting dynamic programs including The Robotics Academy, Girls are Full STEAM Ahead! And GirlSTEAM supporting the potential of girls in STEAM learning; the LGBTIQA+ community, The Ngatook Collective and Elders of the Maar Nation to stimulate opportunities for engagement and create a sense of place and purpose to benefit youth, education, environment and local economies.
