Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is the public art gallery for the City of Darebin, in Melbourne’s north. Housed in a Queen Ann style mansion, it is a centre for contemporary art, ideas, a public garden and café, on Wurundjeri Woi wurrung Country.
Responsive to the complex history of the site, Bundoora Homestead Art Centre provides a space for discussion around the key concerns of our times through the work of local, national, and international artists. The gallery’s exhibitions, collection and public programs are intended to be of interest and educational value to our wide-ranging audiences. Bundoora Homestead’s mission is to deliver experiences with art and culture that inspire, challenge and empower its community.
Bundoora Homestead Art Centre provides accessibility through a lift, has on-site car parking and is situated within a 10 minute walk to public transport.
AWARDS
The Darebin Art Prize and A1 Darebin Art Salon community prize are held at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre on alternating years.
The A1 Darebin Art Salon is a celebration of art, creativity and expression within our community. Artists who live, work or study in the City of Darebin are invited to present a new artwork in this much-loved biennial exhibition.
The Darebin Art Prize is a biennial multi-medium award for excellence in contemporary visual art. Artists from across Australia are represented in this major exhibition which includes a $10,000 acquisitive prize and $1,000 People’s Choice Award.
