GOULBURN REGIONAL ART GALLERY is a bastion of support for contemporary art and artists within the region. The gallery’s program sits across a wide variety of media, bringing together artists from across Australia to incubate new dialogues and challenge ideas and perceptions of contemporary art. The exhibition program intersects with a rotating calendar of discussions, workshops, masterclasses and events. In the gallery’s workshop space, a variety of practical classes for all ages encourage experimentation, mess and play. This proactive agenda extends beyond the boundaries of the site, as Goulburn Regional Art Gallery is responsible for commissioning new works of public art throughout Goulburn CBD.
In 2019, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery will present solo exhibitions of new work by Clara Adolphs, Nicole Foreshew, Tina Milson and the recipient of the Create NSW Regional Fellowship, Rowan Conroy. For the first time, hundreds of works will be unveiled from the permanent collection for Goulburn Bustle, an exhibition that offers a rare insight into the gallery’s richly diverse holdings, as selected by past and present directors of the gallery. The exhibition program will close with a group exhibition titled Of the Sun, an experiential exploration of the landscape. Goulburn Bustle will run from 8 February to 16 March 2019.
