Liste Basel Art Fair postponed

Liste Art Fair organisers hopeful for a COVID-free September as it announces its new dates.

Words: Rose of Sharon Leake

This morning Liste Art Fair Basel announced its postponement to 14 to 20 September, which will overlap with the newly announced Art Basel dates.

This year in its 25th edition, Liste Art Fair Basel hopes its 77 planned galleries from 37 countries will be able to come together in a COVID-free September. “During these uncertain times, our greatest concern as an international fair for new discoveries in contemporary art is to protect everyone’s health,” said fair organisers this morning. “For these reasons, and in light of measures adopted worldwide to control the spread of the coronavirus, we have decided to postpone Liste Art Fair Basel.”

The postponement is aimed at giving the participating galleries, artists, guests, partners and teams involved a sense of security and optimism and enables Liste to upload its high standards as a platform for international art. Yet while Liste and Basel, Switzerland may be optimistic about welcoming its guests in September, only time will tell if this is too generous a time frame for our current COVID-19 reality.
