The 2025 Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize has announced its 99 finalists across the Professional, Emerging and Indigenous Emerging categories, selected from a record 1,934 entries spanning every state and territory in Australia.

Now in its ninth year, the Prize remains the country’s most valuable art award for women, with a total prize pool of $58,000. “This year, the judging panel was overwhelmed by the high quality of artworks submitted for the Art Prize, making our selection process all the more difficult,” said artist and Ravenswood alum Jade Oakley, who serves as Patron and judge. “As Patron of Australia’s highest-value women’s art prize, I’m extremely proud to see the continued growth and popularity of the Prize, and the opportunities it affords professional, Emerging and Indigenous women artists across the country.”

Winners will be announced at the Opening Night on Friday 20 June at Ravenswood School for Girls in Sydney, with tickets now on sale.

In a new initiative, six Highly Commended Awards of $1,000 each will be presented, alongside the main category prizes and a People’s Choice Award.

Following Opening Night, the Exhibition of Finalists will run from 21 June to 6 July, with free entry Thursdays to Sundays and a virtual tour available online. All artworks will be available for sale.
