The internationally acclaimed sculptor expands his Australian presence.

Words: Emily Riches

Fine Arts, Sydney has announced its representation of renowned sculptor Ricky Swallow, an artist known for his masterful transformations of everyday objects into meticulously cast bronze forms. Originally from San Remo, Australia, and now based in Los Angeles, California, Swallow has captivated audiences around the world with his sculptural explorations of craftsmanship and geometric abstraction.

Swallow’s work often uses common materials to construct organic forms, which are later cast in bronze, creating pieces that feel both intimately handmade and formally elegant. His distinctive practice highlights the interplay between the immediacy of craft and the structured beauty of minimalism.

Having represented Australia at the prestigious Venice Biennale in 2005, Swallow’s art continues to be celebrated internationally. He has exhibited extensively, with recent solo shows at David Kordansky Gallery in New York and Modern Art in London. His work is held in numerous major public collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.

Fine Arts, Sydney’s representation marks an exciting new chapter for Swallow, bringing his celebrated works back to local audiences and further strengthening his connection to the Australian art scene.
