In partnership with Sydney WorldPride, Linger, Dash, Talk is an exhibition that platforms queer and First Nations identified artists, and seeks to hone in on the tensions surrounding visibility, erasure and public-scrutiny, and the ways in which queer and Indigenous artists use encoded, private or anecdotal ‘languages’.
Through an exploration of language, gossip and dialogue, the artists variously use text to leverage community-building against (or adjacent to) dominant modes of kinship and relating. Featuring both newly commissioned and existing works, the exhibition will draw on text-based practices, slang, gossip and other informal and encoded modes of communication.
Exhibited artists include: Kirli Saunders, Troy-Anthony Bayliss, Stelly G, Kiki Oner, Garden Reflexxx, Jenna Lee, Mackenzie Lee, Benjy Russel, Ellen van Neerven and Stevie Ross.
Opening Event: Saturday February 18, 6 – 8pm.
