Fox Galleries presents a selection of works by Joanna Gambotto, completed in residence at Fox Galleries.

Following in the footsteps of Danila Vassilieff, Gambotto has drawn inspiration from Melbourne’s heritage streetscapes of Collingwood and Fitzroy. Juxtaposing past and present, Gambotto’s body of work consists of smaller street scenes completed en-plein-air alongside larger, detailed studies of Melbourne’s most eclectic interiors.

Gambotto captures the spirit and essence of Melbourne’s inner-northern suburbs with all their contradictions, vibrancy, and quirkiness.
