When the portable paint tube was invented in 1841 it meant that suddenly artists could make paintings while away from their studio, and since then artists have been doing a lot more moving about. En Plane Air is a series of drawing and sculpture that playfully celebrates the joys of travel.
Kenny Pittock is an artist based in Narrm/Melbourne who works with painting and ceramics to playfully critique everyday life. Since graduating with a Fine Art Honours degree from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2013 Kenny has had solo exhibitions in Italy and Singapore, as well as consistently exhibited his work in Australia at galleries including ACCA in Melbourne, PICA in Perth, Artspace in Sydney and MONA in Tasmania.
Pittock’s work has been the recipient of various awards including the Linden Postcard Prize (2013) and the Redlands Artist Award (2017), and is represented in many public collections including the Melbourne Art and Heritage Collection, Artbank, Deakin University and Monash University.
