Sue Lovegrove’s extraordinarily detailed paintings embody the experience of being immersed within a landscape.
Through the movement of each tiny brush mark she harnesses the rhythm and flow of water, capturing the shimmering patterns of light and shadow that dance across the rippling surface. As Lovegrove says, “I think of the surface of water as a threshold space, a place of liminality, an intermediate or transitional space between the known and unknown, between the cacophonous sounds of life above and the imperceptible sounds below.”
Opening Event: Thursday 11 May, 5.30pm.
