Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre is an innovative and inclusive contemporary art gallery located in the heart of Dandenong. As the most culturally diverse community in Australia Greater Dandenong residents come from more than 157 different countries and speak more than 69 different languages. The City of Dandenong acknowledges that arts and cultural heritage are the key to the city’s vibrancy, health and wellbeing.
With a strong focus on creative development in culturally diverse communities, the gallery presents a series of professionally curated exhibitions each year by emerging and professional artists.
Individuals and collaborators from all creative disciplines including visual arts, film, and performing arts, are invited to exhibit across two principal spaces.
The Arts Centre also includes an intimate theatre space for performance, film and musical performances. The Gallery is available for functions that align to cultural diversity and arts and culture participation.
