EMIL McAVOY

Emil McAvoy is an artist, curator, art writer, lecturer and consultant based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. He is Collections Curator at Auckland University of Technology, where he also lectures in Photographic Practices and Communication Design. He has an MFA (1st Class Honours) from the Elam School of Fine Arts, and his writing includes essays, criticism and interviews for publishers including Art News Aotearoa, Art New Zealand, Contemporary Hum, Pantograph Punch, City Gallery Wellington, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, The Suter Art Gallery, Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery, PhotoForum and EyeContact, alongside commissions by selected artists and commercial galleries. He has contributed to Art Collector magazine since 2018.
