SPINIFEX HILL STUDIO stands on Kariyarra Country in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is home to one of the youngest Aboriginal art collectives in the north-west of Australia, Spinifex Hill Artists. Spinifex Hill Studio acknowledges the diversity of Aboriginal experience and supports the artistic practice of people from across the Pilbara.
More than 100 emerging, mid-career and established artists make regular use of it’s studio facilities, with a primary focus on contemporary acrylic painting. These are artists from many different language groups, including Kariyarra, Banyjima, Mangala, Manyjiljarra, Martu, Noongar, Nyangumarta, Nyamal, Nyiyarparli, Walmajarri, Warnman, Yamatji, Yindjibarndi.
