Founded by artists, West Space is a contemporary art space situated in Yállabirrang (Collingwood). For nearly three decades, and across five different venues, West Space has produced and presented art and ideas by Australian and international artists with a focus on experimentation and supporting underrepresented practices. It operates as a contemporary art gallery, a commissioning organisation, and as a space to build communities around art and ideas. West Space has paid staff, a dedicated volunteer team, and a regular newsletter.
