The Banyule Award for Works on Paper is awarded biennially to a contemporary work on paper. This is a national art prize, with the winning artwork entered into the Banyule Art Collection. Artworks may be in any medium where the final piece entered is made on or with paper, including, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, jewellery and artists books. The panel of judges for the award is comprised of three independent experts from the public art sector in Victoria. All entries are judged according to a set criteria: creative use of the medium and response to the exhibition theme, expression and technique and originality of artistic perception and mode of interpretation.

The Different Award Categories
The awards include the $10,000 Main Acquisitive Prize, the $1000 Commendation Prize and the $1000 People’s Choice Award, which is announced at the end of the exhibition period.
