Eligibility: Australian artists with a connection to Brisbane
Associated institution: Brisbane City Council
The Brisbane Portrait Prize is all about celebrating Brisbane portrait artists and their sitters, while encouraging public engagement with the arts. Any artist with a connection to Brisbane is eligible to enter. The sitter must also have a connection with Brisbane. All subjects must have been alive for a sitting and granted permission for the artist to enter the artwork into the Brisbane Portrait Prize.

The categories include the $50,000 lord Mayor’s Prize, the $10,000 Digital Award, the $7,500 Courier-Mail People’s Choice Award, the $7,500 Performing Arts and Music Award, the $5,000 Sylvia Jones Prize for Women Artists, the $5,000 Packer’s Prize, the $2,000 Next Gen Prize, the $1000 (voucher) Emerging Artists Award and the $900 Metro Arts Experimental Portraiture Prize.
