Georges River Art Prize
Medium / category: Painting, sculpture and youth artworks
Requirements: Artworks entered must be the original work of the artist. Artworks must have been completed within the last two years (2023-2025). For artist’s entering the Georges River Art Prize/Local Prize or Sculpture Prize, nominated artworks must be for sale.
Eligibility: The Georges River Art Prize 2025 is open to all Australian permanent residents and citizens. Georges River Council employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. Entrants for the Georges River Art Prize, Georges River Local Artist Prize and Georges River Sculpture Prize, must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Entrants who enter the painting prize and live in the Georges River Council Local Government Area are also eligible to be considered for the Local Prize. Entrants for the Georges River Little Artist Prize and Georges River Youth Prize must live or study in the Georges River Council Local Government Area. Entrants for the Georges River Little Artist Prize must be in Primary school. Entrants for Georges River Youth Prize must be in Secondary school. In the categories of the Georges River Little Artist Prize and the Georges River Youth Prize, the artist must attend school in Georges River LGA.

The Georges River Art Prize is a biennial art prize that provides an opportunity for artists from all over Australia to display their best work. There are categories for painting and sculptural work, children and youth, and local artists.
The Georges River Art Prize is hosted by Hurstville Museum & Gallery and the Clive James Library and Service Centre, Kogarah, and offers $20,000 in prize money.

What you need to know
The entry fee for the Georges River Art Prize, Local Artist Prize and Sculpture Prize is $50.00 per artwork (inc. GST) and is non-refundable.
The entry fee for the Georges River Little Artist Prize and the Georges River Youth Prize is $20.00 per artwork (inc. GST) and is non-refundable.

A maximum of three (3) works per artist can be entered into the Georges River Art Prize, Local Artist Prize and Sculpture Prize. The entry fee is applicable for each artwork. Each artwork must be entered through its own separate application.
A maximum of one (1) work per artist can be entered into the Georges River Little Artist Prize and Youth Prize.
