The Hornsby Art Prize is an annual art award and exhibition organised and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council and delivered in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society. The Hornsby Art Prize is aimed at encouraging the creative talents of people and providing a showcase for their works.
The competition has an overall prize pool value of $23,000, with the major prize worth $10,000. The non-acquisitive prize celebrates Australian Contemporary Art and is open to all Australian residents aged 18 years and over. It also celebrates Hornsby Shire residents with the Hornsby Shire Local Artist Award with a prize of $5,000. The Hornsby Art Prize Finalists’ Exhibition will be held at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre, Hornsby.

The Different Award Categories
Artists are invited to submit works in the following categories: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Digital Art Stills and Sculpture. The final awards include the $10,000 Hornsby Prize, the $5,000 Hornsby Shire local Artist award, the $1,500 Painting category award, the $1,500 drawing category award, the $1,500 printmaking category award, the $1,500 digital art stills category award, the $1,500 sculpture ward and the $500 People’s Choice Award.
