The Basil Sellers Art Prize is a biennial competition which offers a prize pool of over $30,000. The Award was founded in 2004 by businessman, philanthropist and art collector Mr Basil Sellers AM. In 2018 the prize was opened to include artists from NSW and the ACT.
In 2022 the prize became a nationwide prize with a new direction for the latest evolution and an increased major prize of $25,000. The prize champions 2D artworks in traditional mediums and will call for entries from across Australia. The Eurobodalla award will continue to support local artists, ensuring their important place within the prize is safeguarded, while showcasing our local talent on a national stage.

The Different Award Categories
The awards include the $5000 Eurobodalla Award, the $25,000 Basil Sellers Art Prize and the $500 People’s Choice Award. The Eurobodalla Award honours a local entry into the prize and the work is acquired for the Council’s permanent collection. The Eurobodalla Award artwork is acquired by Basil Sellers AM. The People’s Choice Award is chosen by the exhibition vitiators.
